Therapia’s NDIS approved Behaviour Support Practitioners work with participants, their families, and support networks to complete a functional behaviour assessment and build a practical, person-centred plan, meeting NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission timeframes for interim and comprehensive reports. We collaborate with schools, residential providers, and allied health teams so strategies are applied consistently everywhere the participant spends time, and we’re experienced in restrictive practice reduction and authorisation. Support coordinators, families, and other providers can all refer directly, and earlier referral means a faster start to assessment. Early Intervention supports give young children the best possible start by building communication, social, and foundational learning skills as soon as a developmental delay or disability is identified. Therapia’s Early Intervention team uses recognised tools including VB-MAPP, ABLLS-R, AFLS, and Vineland to design individualised programs, with regular program reviews to track progress against goals. We work alongside families, educators, and other allied health providers so skills learned in session carry over into home, kindy, and school routines. Referring as early as possible helps reduce waitlist times and supports the strongest developmental outcomes. Learn more about our Early Intervention program or the NDIS Early Childhood approach.

Therapeutic supports are the allied health services that build a participant’s skills, independence, and everyday function, and at Therapia this includes speech therapy and occupational therapy alongside other allied health input. Our speech pathologists work on communication, language, and feeding and swallowing goals, while our occupational therapists focus on fine and gross motor skills, sensory needs, daily living tasks, and home or vehicle modification assessments. We match each referral to the clinician best suited to the participant’s age, needs, and NDIS plan, and report clearly against agreed outcomes. Support coordinators and families are welcome to refer for one service or several at once. Explore our speech therapy and occupational therapy services, or the NDIS list of supports.
Â
Psychology support at Therapia covers both clinical and diagnostic assessment and ongoing therapeutic intervention. Our registered psychologists conduct evidence-based clinical and diagnostic assessments using tools such as the ADOS-2 and ADI-R, WISC, Vineland etc. for a range of disorders. These assessments produce clear, comprehensive reports that support NDIS access requests, plan reviews, and funding decisions, while our therapy sessions draw on approaches such as CBT, ACT, and trauma-informed practice tailored to each person’s communication style and goals. Referrals for assessment or therapy are welcome from support coordinators, GPs, families, or participants themselves. Learn more about our psychology services or the NDIS Access Request process.
Â
Community Participation supports help NDIS participants build confidence, social connection, and independence by practising skills in real community settings, whether that’s joining a local group, volunteering, using public transport, or taking part in sport. Therapia’s team works with each participant to set goals that matter to them, then provides structured one-on-one or small-group support to work toward those goals in the community. This support is especially valuable for participants leaving school, building independence, or reducing reliance on informal supports over time. Referrals can target a specific outcome or an ongoing program of engagement. Learn more about our Community Participation supports.

Support coordinators, family members, carers, GPs, and other allied health providers can all refer a participant. Participants can also refer themselves. We accept referrals for self-managed, plan-managed, and NDIA-managed participants.
Please include the participant's NDIS number, current plan dates, relevant funding categories, and a brief outline of their goals or support needs. Any existing reports or assessments are helpful but not essential to get started.
Yes, the participant needs an active NDIS plan with funding available for the service being requested. Our intake team can help clarify which funding category applies before you submit the referral.
Timeframes vary by service and current demand, and we'll confirm an estimate once your referral is reviewed. Urgent referrals, including behaviour support involving safety risks, are prioritised where possible.
You can refer for more than one service, many participants receive a combination of supports, such as PBS alongside speech therapy or psychology. Our teams coordinate internally so goals stay consistent across every service involved.
